Sage to Actinic Vice Versa Actinic to Sage - VAT

    Hi,

Im trying to link Sage with Actinic and running into a problem when it comes to VAT - i was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice in this. All our products include VAT within Sage but all our prices are exclusive of tax within Actinic.

Say a pair of trousers are to retail at £10. They are £10 within Sage (with the relevant VAT code) but when i run the link it still shows as being £10 in Actinic - i need this to be £8.51 as prices are exclusive.

Does anyone know if this is possible?? I called support but they more or less just told me that everything has to be the same i.e. both exclusive or both inclusive which has really thrown me!

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Elaine

    Settings|Tax|Product Prices Entered|Incusive of Tax

Make sure that you have a Snapshot before you start!

Also, IMO let Actinic deal with the products, NOT Sage.
Let Sage deal with the finances.

I use a single customer in sage titled, 'Internet Sales'
After all, a High St shop doesn't often record each individual customers details seperately.

If you DO want to go further, then bolt ACT! on the backend.

      Hi Jarvis,

Thank you for your reply, we too have created a generic customer in Sage called "Internet Shoppers". Still running into problems exporting into Sage from Actinic tho. I had a look to see what Act is but still abit confused......how would this work for me?

Am i correct in thinking that you run Actinic into Sage and Sage into Actinic successfully?

      Thanks again,

      Elaine

I would treat it as a one way process with Actinic feeding into Sage.
This may not be the ideal arrangement in ALL circumstances, but in my experience, this is the norm.

ACT! is a Sage 'bolt-on' that helps track customer prospectives and sales etc.
I only mentioned it for completeness.
I do have a couple of clients who swear by it.
        Have a look.
