extended info in Vista

My site, which behaves perfectly well in other browsers, is mishandling extended information when I view it in IE on a computer running Vista. It opens the extended information pop-up correctly, but then a fraction of a second later loads the same text in the original window, which then sits in front of the pop-up.

Closing this window of course closes the site, but the extended info pop-up is left on screen.

Has anyone else met this?

I'm using v. 8.5.2.0.0.0. HMVA

Is this perhaps an IE browser window management settings. Check for something different between the XP and Vista machines in Internet Explorer Tools - Advanced - Browsing settings.

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. The machines are on different floors, I may be gone some time .....
