Google Enhance 404 pages

Hi,

I have set up the Google Enhance 404 page, so that when a user attempts to view a page that is no longer available they are shown a page giving them a "friendly 404 page" works well apart from the search part. the search box shows the suggested links, but takes the "a" out of the folder name acatalog.

You seem to be using some Google javascript to do this, so I'd suggest you ask them.

Though looking at what it does, the text in the search box is a suggested search term from google and I wouldn't be surprised if "catalog" is what they offer when the 'input' is "acatalog".

Create your own 404 page and get your hosts to re-direct to that... The last thing you want to do when a potential customer can't find one of your pages is to give them the option to search the web again. IMO

I agree with this 100% but as the 404 page with Google search limits results to that website this isn't a problem. Still the OP has changed it now so of little relevance other than reference for others.
