    Export to Quickbooks

    Hi,

I have exported my catalog to import in Quickbooks. So far so good.

However, when you view the exported catalog in Excel prices show as whole numbers rather than with the decimal point, for instance a price of £9.99 in excel displays as £999

When imported into Quicbooks the item then shows a price of £999.00

There are about 1500 items in my catalogue and to edit them individualy may take forever. Basically, all I need to do is divide the whole column contents by 100, but how to do this is eluding me !

Has anyone the answer, or can suggest another way ?

    Stephen,

I've never had to do this export, so forgive me if I'm talking rubbish (for rubbish see s**t ), but could you not alter the pricing in excel, before the import into quickbooks?

You are correct in that I want to alter the figures in Excel BEFORE sending to Quickbooks, but to manually alter 1500 items would take forever.

I am looking for the answer as to how to alter a full column in Excel by dividing each cell in the column by 100 globaly.

I do hope I am making sense !!!

        Okay...

Insert a column immediately next to your price column. In the fist cell type "=" then click on cell that contains the first price. This should place the cell alphanumeric code after the equals sign.

        eg =A1

        Then type /100.

So the first cell in your fresh column should look like:

        =A1/100

and should give you your quick book friendly number.

Click on that cell. It should put a back border around it with a black square in the bottom right corner.

Double click on the little black square and it should populate all 1499 cells beneath using the same equation.

Not a problem mate, I'm glad it work out for you. Now that you've got this far you need to copy the new column and right click paste special in the old prices column.

You'll get an set of radio button options, you need to choose the Values and Number Formats under Paste.

Delete the extar column and import into Quickbooks...

            Ta da
