Windows Hosting / Checkout problem

Hi hoping someone can help

We have a site www.pro-tactical.com which we have recently moved from a server hosted at work for speed reasons / bandwidth useage etc

The problem is the new server is windows, the website works fine until you click on checkout and then it goes very very vey slowly - it does eventually work because we have had orders but you really need th patience of a saint

The checkout uses the action command - does anyone know what would be causing this / if there is a specific perl module that needs to be installed to combat this issue

Its getting quite urgent as we need to move 4 other sites to the same server

Not much use, but this may help. Does your server meet all the required 'Web Site' requirements?

It's probably some resource limiting going on somewhere on the server.

It ran super fast for me the first time I added to cart and then ran like a dog afterwards. So slow I gave up.

I would get on to the server people to find out what the problem is. They ought to know what's happeing on the server and be able to sort it out.

PS. I didn't seen any age checking (or even mention of the relevant acts) with the knives. Presumably it's on the checkout pages, otherwise you're breaking the laws in the dangerous weapons act.

How many times have we had posts about actinic and windows severs! - they don't work IMO.

I agree mike- knives and house breaking kit from a po box number all looks a bit dodgy to me. That moe kit used to be military and police only but as you say it may be blocked in checkout otherwise it's pretty handy stuff to have for a nights work!

The website is for the police and military - all orders are manual processed and knives and weapons are ONLY sold to police and military

Really? This kind of implies the opposite:

If you are ordering from Police or Military please register with us for an account so you can enjoy special trade pricing.

In that case you may be breaking PCI Compliance regulations, also i was able to go through checkout without it asking for identity, maybe you should take payment via invoice as someone could argue that you have accepted their order and therefore should honour the sale.

in my days doing that sort of stuff even pictures were not allowed of the kit - we knew what it all was and how it worked but obviously did not want the bad boys knowing. Things must have changed as the kit is easily defeated if you know how it all works - still it keeps it all interesting.

As mike says the site looks like a standard ecommrrce site and I would expect orders from non police and military if it's not locked down better - although with the slow checkout it's doing a pretty good job as it is.

Sorry but I am feeling very uneasy about this site as a whole. I can't believe it's legal. Apart from the obvious knives issue, the contact details simply return a PO box. Dodgy or what.
