Install Google Analytics instead, (big thread in the forum on how to) and keep your stats to yourself instead. Having counters on websites was RIP 5 years ago, generally a homemade site does this and it looks really cheap.

Do GA then, becase even if you don't want the in depth analysis at the moment, you probably will at some stage. Failing that as Taddy says, your host should provide you with standard visitor and usage stats already.

I use a private hosting server and dont have any stats with it, (My brothers servers) lol so i will look into the google option thank you.

One last question on the google stats,
will this pick up hits on my website from people just hitting my website or only hits from people using google to find me?

              Cheers

It tells you everything about everyone visiting your site.

You add the GA code to your site, so when ever the page is shown it is recorded by GA -regardless of where visitors come from.

Stats will show you where visitors come from.

I absolutely hate it when that happens

Even kept the identical image name specialOffers.gif

Yes - I best watch out as the image owner now knows. Pete and I had fun when someone stole one of his images and used it on a site, unfortunately for them I lived 10 miles down the road and paid them a little visit
