Will my Idea Work ? (Component / Attributes)

Hi Folks,

Has anyone tried this already / can this be done ?

I can only explain this concept with a silly example below;

Shopper buys 10 x Teapots and we want to add a component / attribute that gives him option of buying a Teapot Cleaning Solution.

Current prob with Actinic = the basket will show ;
10 x Teapots + 10 x Cleaning Solution cos he put "10" in quantity

I want it to show ;
10 x Teapots + 1 x Cleaning Solution.

is this possible? or is there an easier way as long a The Shopper is able buy the Cleaning Solution from withing the Teapot Product area.

Never used them, but you could look at related products.

Norm at drillpine has a plugin to make related products popup and able to be bought, you could use that. Another option is to sell your product in set quantities, so rather than buying 10 of a product, they buy one pack of 10 instead.

Thanks fellas, that's a brill idea of selling in set qty's. I don't know what it is in life I always want a version, style or flavour that's not on the menu !

If you have single product per page layout at present then you could have a single add to cart button for this page, with a second product as your cleaning solution displaying between the main product and the add to cart button.

You could have a very simple, text based layout that gives the impression of a second option on the one product page.

There are ways to code the quantity box to a checkbox and fixed to a quantity of one, but I'll not go there at present, unless we need to get complicated!
