    it's stopped working

I'm having problems with the add to cart and checkout on my site. (i have posted this under payments but i think it's more of a gerneral problem)

My host tell me they get a script error on IE but not on Firefox. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this? Would loading a past snapshot fix it?

YOu can view the site through http://www.chicken-house.co.uk/acatalog/Heat_Lamps.html as I've reverted back to my old cart until I can get this fixed.

I get a problem on Firefox and Chrome. I don't think importing a snapshot will make any difference.

It took 45 secs to get to the checkout on Chrome, slightly less on Firefox. I notice that your credit card page has not been restored to https. No one is going to order unless it is.

As suggested elsewhere, you need to consider moving hosts to one which is known to work well with Actinic.

Move to a different host is always an option but as it was working fine and then it stopped it's likley to be someting that changed. All I can think is I managed to change something when I was adding some products.

I dont know your history with this fault, but as a general rule if this has just happened try the following

        Make a snapshot
Compact the database both cataloge and shipping
Refresh the website not just a upload

        You may be lucky

Which easyspace package do you have? How much is it costing you a year?

As Chris said and you could also try changing the script numbers

But looking at the way it is working i would suggest you move hosts, the server seems to be struggling running the scripts

ps i notice iomart are something to do with this, from personal experience i would not be using them, i have had various issues lately with them and domain names / control panels not working e.t.c

So you're suggesting that the script problems are a hosting problem and not a problem with something I've done/uploaded? Is there anyway to tell for sure other than moving it?

I think the hosting costs around £100/year.

for static ip and ssl i guess around that price maybe more

If you have a script problem, which is possible this will consume resources and the site will run slow, change the script id and refresh the site. I take it you have not edited any scripts at all? if so then you might be better doing a purge and refresh, this will remove any edits to these files.

Corrupt scripts can slaughter a server and result in other problems and the results can mean a site being suspended if it reaches the point of effecting other sites - trust me i know

I haven't intentionally alter any scripts. But I have found an error on the receipt page rConverDot is undefinded as is rRemoveEncoded.

I have tried purge and reload, changing script number

This thread might be of some relevance (particularly post # 11):

                    http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=36592

I see that your script ID has already been changed from 1 to 2 at some stage, ie the scripts that run your cart and checkout end in 2.pl rather than 1.pl

Yes, I have said that i'd also posted in the payments section - that was when I was tring to make paypal work but you all pointed out a bigger problem that I thought should be in the general section as it's the whole thing that's not working.

the whole site is wrong so you could really put it in every section of the forum - you will get the same answers as it's the same people looking at it. Putting the same problem ie hosting in different parts of the community will not solve your problem.
