How do I create a Contact Page?

This should be really simple but I'm having a nightmare with it.

What do I have to do to get the contact Us form to appear?

I've managed to get every page to be a contact page but thats not really what I need!

All I want is a contact page.

I just can't work out how to do it. Everytime I add the conactinner variable it chages every page not just the one I want.

I've spoken to tech support (very helpful) and copied the External design layouy in the library to make a new contact which contains the code.

For some very odd reason the new contact layout is linked to the external design layout which means that everything changes to a contact page.

I've even tried embeddeding the code into the content using !!< but that doesn't work either.

I can see the form in the correct place but it doesn't work.

Surley this should be really simple. All the help files says is "Actinic automatically generates a 'Contact Us' form as part of the site"

I just dont know how to get it to display...

By embeding the code between !!<.!! I get this:

          This is your link:

          It works on your site.

That's not where his "Contact" link is pointing though.

            A side note:

Can I suggest that you move your Left Hand Section Navigation above the fold, above the Main Pages Navigation

I think that it would be better from a user perspective.

Yes its is actually working now.

The only slight problem is there seems to be bits of code showing in the boxes:

Please complete the details below and then press Send

              Name: * NETQUOTEVAR:NAMEVALUE
              Subject: * NETQUOTEVAR:SUBJECTVALUE
              Email Address: * NETQUOTEVAR:EMAILVALUE
              Message: * NETQUOTEVAR:MESSAGEVALUE

              * denotes required fields highlighted.

But the emails are working. Just got to work out how to get rid of those and then I can start making the rest of the site look better.

I'm sure that copying and pasting the code into the content section is not the right way to do it, but as long as it works I'm not going to lose anymore sleep over it

It definatley works as I've just had my first email from a customer

Just looks like it doesn't work

Your LHS navigation link is still wrong. I presume you added a brochure page or/and perhaps hard-coded the LHS nav.

Your link should be as I posted earlier, not to ...Contact.html

I see what your saying and it does work.

How do I get it to point to the correct link?

I can't believe I still stuck on this. Its really driving me insane now.

What I need to know is how to change the filename that the contact us button points to (currently contact.html)

The simplest way would be to change it in design|page details but it doesn't allow path information to be put in there..

How do I make the Contact Us button a link to my main website?

I would like the Contact Us button on my Actinic online shop site to link to the contact page of my main site (not Actinic). I am using Actinic v9 and Executive theme. I have set the Home link in the top menu bar to the home page of my main non-Actinic site and would like to do the same with the Contact Us button but I can't seem to find where to put the link in. Any ideas?

                          Thanks,
                          Gemma

                            Gemma,

You can do this by replacing the
                            Code:
                            a href=""
code currently in your layout to the URL of the desired Contact Us page.

However, I would assume that the Section/Product links are not present on the page held outside of Actinic, so you are taking people further away from the "Add to Cart" button.

Why don't you replicate the content with Actinic's page?

                              Contact page issues

Thanks so much for your help. I've decided I am going to link to my main contact page for now because I'm due to go live tomorrow and not sure how easy I will find changing the contact page layout. However, I can't find the code you said I need to change in the layout of the contact page. Also, I think my contact page has gone funny becuase when I choose it from the drop down box at the top and look at preview mode, I get a load of text starting with theme.css.

                              Any ideas?? Thank you!
