    Submit action popups

Hi guys - first post here and already asking for help

I'm new to Actinic and have started a new job, working with v9. The boss has requested a popup on each product 'add to cart' button and the final payment confirmation button which alerts the user to check their order before making a final action.

i.e. - 'Please check your order before you submit to reduce the risk of mistakes'

Personally I feel this is overkill but he has no confidence in the end users (at least until the system becomes familiar).

Is there any way I can practically/simply edit the code for a product so the above popup alert could be displayed, perhaps opening for a timed period or requiring to be closed with a click (annoying I am sure you would agree)?

I'm hoping to talk the boss out of the idea, but should he be insistent I would like to be armed and ready

There is an option which will allow you to pass the customer to the basket where they have to confirm thier order to continue - you could also put your message on there as well.

I NEVER use it TBH - its in options

The boss has requested an annoying popup that will alienate customers and lose sales
That's a bit of a misquote but is in effect what you're asking for. Anyone with a popup blocker will be probably unable to buy.

Why not stick with the "I accept the Terms and Conditions..." checkbox that is already there in the Checkout. Add some text to that prompt that reminds the customer to check their order details before proceeding.

Or set the pages Shopping Mode to "Quantity on Confirmation Page". This sticks an intermediate page between each product and the actual cart. You could then add a message to that page asking them to be careful.

This is a bit outmoded but was the way Actinic V3 used to work and has been left in for compatibility.

Wow - a great response guys. Thanks for that.

I agree that its pretty un-user friendly in the first instance.

I will check out the options you have proposed and see which works best for us.
