    redirect after taking payment

One of my customers asked if I could set up a shopping-page for their members only, where the members can be directed to from the customer's website to purchase some specialist topic-related books from us. The idea is that our customer does not have to worry about the logistics and mechanics of e-commerce etc. In principle, this is no problem.
They also want a copy of the confirmation email for each order send to them as well, so that they have a record of the orders. Can this be automated, and if so, how? Further, they would like their customer to be automatically directed back to their website after placing an order, instead of them staying on ours (www.orchidbooks.org). Can this be done, and if so, how?
    Anybody?
    Thanks

    Hi,

If I understand you correctly, your customer will have a 'section' on your site and wants the confirmation emails for orders placed for those products sent to them. I'm afraid that this isn't possible. You can set it to send the confirmation emails to another address but it will do it for all orders, not just those that contain particular products.

Further, they would like their customer to be automatically directed back to their website after placing an order, instead of them staying on ours (www.orchidbooks.org). Can this be done, and if so, how?
Again, you can't specify where someone is redirected to based on what they have bought.

you could use the referrer script to identify these purchases, but you'd have to send over the orders on a manual basis.

if you set up the referrer script you may find it redirects you back the originating site- i don't know about this as i haven't used the referrer since v6

        Hi,

thanks for the replies. I would have thought that by creating a new email template, with my client's email as a cc, this could work for their orders.
My main problem however has now emerged to be something totally different. Redirecting back to their site would be a nightmare, so they agreed to have the link on their site open in a new window, so that their clients can just close this once they placed the order. The real problem now seems to be the currency. We use Euro, and our site quotes everything in Euro. However, our client is outside the Euro zone and is looking at prices to be quoted in Sterling. Any ideas on that one?

I'd suggest you build another site at yourdomain.co.uk and use that for your client. That way you can have all the features you originally asked for and use sterling as the currency.

One thing I'd watch out for is the search engines seeing duplicate content. It shouldn't hurt your main site, but as long as this site is intended just for customer from your partners website, then I'd no-follow the internal pages to keep the search engines out.
