Sage & Actinic Link - Custom Field?

    Hi there,

Firstly - what a great forum! Have already managed to build one linked site using help guide and forum so thanks for your help!

However, I've searched and searched and can't find an answer to this:

I want a Was/RRP Price and Now/Our Price to be displayed on my shop. I know Actinic is capable of doing this through a custom variable (again thanks forum) however i really wanted to be able to pull this figure through from sage.

The custom fields in Sage (Web Tab) are for menu categories and as i wont need a three level menu, is it possible to use one of these fields to pull across this data as my 'Was' price? Or does anyone know of another field i could use? I used the discount tab previously for quantity discounts but can't see how this could be used to achieve the result i want.

    Any ideas ayone?
Thanks in advance for any help and hopefully now i'm on here i may be able to help others

    Hi,

    First, welcome to the community.

I'm afraid that I can't see a way of doing what you want. The custom fields on the 'web tab' will only ever be used to create sections in Actinic and there is no way to map a particular field from Sage into Actinic. They are all fixed within the Link software.

      Hi Tracey,

Thanks for your reply. That's a real shame. I'm trying to sell Actinic based on the Sage link, however the main selling point being the customer doesn't have to keep using both pieces of software - unfortunately with most businesses set up, this just isn't the case as Sage is very restricted as to how it integrates with other applications.

Oh well, back to the drawing board i think!

      Thanks again

        Nikki,

        Firstly welcome to the forum.

Just been giving some thoughts on this. I agree with what Tracy said, the 3 custom field that Sage provide are unfortunately used by Actinic Link to define the tree structure for the products.

In sage, although there is no concept of RRP, you can have multiple price lists associated with the products and link customers to it. i.e. a trade/ wholesale price list for your wholsesale customers and a Retail price list for general public.

Suggest, you create a new price list called RRP and define the RRP prices for each product. Once done, you can then export this price list in excel format and then use Actinic heirachical import to populate the RRP custom variable that is defined within Actinic as per the AUG. I'm sure this can be be automated, but then again, how often would the RRP price change.

        Hope this hopes.
