    Updating Stock problem

    Hi,

We currently have v8.5.2 Business MU and also run EPOS with stock management controlled by EPOS. We have started encountering a problem whereby when we download the orders, the orders themselves come through fine but as the payments come through and the stock levels are updated the system hangs. If we click Cancel to the download, the following message is displayed:

'An attempt was made to access an unnamed file past its end'

We initially thought this may have been a problem with the link between ecommerce and EPOS, however, when looking in the Content view of ecommerce we can still see the stock levels of the individual products.

We have tried compacting and repairing the database and we have stopped and restrted the EPOS link server.

Has anyone seen this message before in this context?

    Thank you.

Just to update, we have also just tried to cancel an order (which would normally increase the stock levels) and we are getting the same error message I mentioned previously.

When we click Cancel to the error message we then receive the following:

'Error accessing the database. Check the permissions on the file and the files existence'

Unfortunately it does not state which file!

It would seem that any form of stock updating is resulting in the error messages.

      Yet another update...

We have just tried switching the 'Manage stock in EPOS' control off and the order download and stock updating worked fine. Which would suggest that the problem lies on the connectio between ecommerce and EPOS.

Any ideas as to what to do next?

        Hi Nicola,

I have seen this once before and it was fixed by licensing a new site and importing the snapshot into that site. Then activate the EPOS link and try and ship your orders. You may need to do a 'refresh' from the new site too.
