To be honest thats because the general public dont use anything other than windows. Those figures are crap if you ask me, the site itself gives you a clue as to why

Just out of curiousity, where are you getting those figures from?

Google analytics shows IE (36% if anyone cares), but not which version.

from awstats (oct 08) on a live trading web site, IE7 60% IE6 18% other IE 2%, FF 15%, others 5%. As always stats can prove black is white if you want, it is a niche site (supplies knitting yarns) so may not be typical.

If you checkout wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_s...f_web_browsers you get a different set of results namely IE 71%, FF 20%, Safari 6.6%, rest 2.4%. My current favourite is Opera after problems with Firefox, I particularly like the ability to edit a web site online to see the effect of changes (it doesn't actually change the web site just your view of it). Competes well with firebug on firefox.
