I am delighted to announce the release of the latest v9 update v9.0.3 IMMA.
v9.0.3 IMMA supersedes the previously released v9.0.3 ILXA.
You can download v9.0.3 IMMA from here.
For details of this release please click here.
V9.0.3 IMMA is a substantial interim release containing a number of fixes for known issues and performance enhancements including multi-threading and compressed upload.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the v9.0.3 alpha and beta programs as well as everyone who helped us with feedback. Your help and support has proved invaluable.
Please note:
The release candidate contains a small change from the previously released v9.0.3 ILXA to resolve the reported bug with large sites experiencing issues with products vanishing.
To make use of the compressed upload feature this must be supported by your hosting provider.
The new compressed upload feature. When uploading for the first time, Actinic will check to see if the server supports uploads data compression. If not, this option will be turned off for subsequent uploads. However, with compression disabled, the upload process is still considerably faster in v9.0.3 compared to older versions.
Any site uploaded prior to v9.0.3 will have the files owned by FTP user. With compression the files will be owned by the CGI process owner. If the two users, i.e, FTP and CGI are not the same, it will result in a permissions problem during upload. When this is detected by Actinic during upload, it will display a message asking customers to turn off Compressed Upload and retry, after which the upload will continue using the old FTP method. The following KB article details this.
While v9.0.3 IMMA does resolve a number of issues, we are very aware of other reported bugs. We are dedicated to quality and will be releasing another v9 maintenance release to tidy up some of these reported issues.
