Block IF for product group and discount end date

Can someone help me out with a couple of block if statements please?

I want one to test if a product is in a group and another to test if today is the last / end date of a discount.

Blockifs won't do either as far as I know. Blockifs do not work online also, they are strictly offline items.

Obvious for the date, should have thought about that, but surely it should work for the Product Group as that is created offline.
