Why does Actinic 'complete' orders back to front?

This might seem like a minor niggle but it's being compounded by other niggles!

When you print packing lists, they print in order number/date order. Which is loginal.

When you 'bulk' complete multiple orders (ie highlight a number of them and click complete) they print out in reverse. Why?

I end up with a pile of packing lists printed in one direction and a pile of invoices the other way round.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could print both my packing lists AND invoices at the same time, by using the 'one click order completion' function but I can't.

It doesn't work (I've been complaining about that since the whole 'one stop' thing came out!)

so I have to do packing lists first and then complete to ship/generate invoice.
It's much quicker being able to complete multiple orders (which also didn't work in V8) but they are completing/printing back to front.

I'm half asking why and half having a moan about it..because it's silly! Just like not being able to get my packing lists and invoices by 'completing' is silly!!

    <end moan> (for now)

Geez somebody's Monday morning's not goning too well.

I'm sure this is what the developer intended:
Print the packing lists and place them face up on the table, then print the invoices and place them face down on the table.

Then pick up one from each pile.

        It would be either </end moan> or <end moan/>.

PS - Try some Seven Seas tablets.
PPS - The list that prints arse upwards, can't you just turn it so face down.
PPPS - Only kidding usability things like this blow my mind too. This is a developer vs user issue, as they never have to do this kind of thing I guess.

          I know

and yes, it's a classic developer vs user thing...... again
I live in hope that one day the 'one click order completion' might actually work with 'one click'
That's not too much to ask, is it?
          (maybe it is!)

That's obviously the beginning of the end.

an additional 'problem' to this backwards completing is that the invoice numbers (in 9.0.3) are then allocated in reverse order which looks odd! If you sort your completed orders by "Order number", then invoice numbers are all over the place and vice versa!

I haven't checked this Tracey, but I suspect it does them in the order in which you are looking at them, from the top of the screen downwards, so in theory, you could reordered them on there, scroll all the way down to the bottom and go from there. It's a bit odd but might work.

... it's not 'One Stop' by the way it's 'One Click' ... an ingenious concept though, processing your orders in batches ;-)

I'll try the reverse sort thing (although I tend to have newest at the top which would agree with your theory) thanks

                        Shameless plug, btw, Jan

I know it's called 'one click' but it still isn't!

                          Hi Tracey,

We use a 'one piece of paper system'. Jan has designed an invoice with her sticky labels for the despatch address, we never print packing notes, go straight to invoice and use that to pick and ship orders

Maybe I will look at removing the need for the packing list altogether.
It'll probably be a quicker 'fix' than the 'fix' (IYSWIM!)
