    bs-snippets.html not updating

Since upgrading to 9.0.3 our bs-snippets.html file is not updating.
The Brochure pages update with new best sellers and products, but the catalog pages are stuck with the best sellers/new products before the upgrade to 903.

I checked the bs-snippets.html in Catalog and it still has the list from immediately prior to upgrade.

The file generated when you include your best sellers with Javascript. I think I noticed this too but have actually removed them from the page anyway for various reasons. Busy updating for the VAT change but will take a look when I can.

        AUG Page 61.
Only Generating Best Seller and New Products Lists Once per Upload
This exercise will show you how to generate best seller and new products lists in their own separate page and then include them in via a JavaScript 'include' command on the web site. This means that if you have 1,000 sections, and then the content of the best sellers list changes, you will not have to upload 1,000 changed pages the next time you upload.

            Update

Reverted to original layout, so every page uploads whenever best sellers or new products changes, and did a full upload of 600+ pages in less than 4 minutes. So perhaps bs-snippets is no longer necessary??

I thought the same when you mentioned it, its interesting and good to see that it brings sites of this size back in the fold. Scrap it I say.

                Hi,

There's been a change to the way pop-up pages are generated and that's what's causing the problem. The workaround if anyone is interested is to create a product layout based on the current product layout (Design | Library | Layouts | right-click on current product layout and select 'copy'). Put the 'BestSellersSnippet' selector variable on this new layout instead of the overall layout (point 16 in the AUG) but leave the '<a rel="fragment" href="bs-snippet.html">Best Seller List Inserted Here</a>' bit. Only apply this new layout to one product.

The best sellers list will then update correctly on upload. I'll ask development if there's a better way of doing this and obviously get the AUG updated.

Is there a fix for this one yet?

I can't get the single instance of the Snippets to generate them so now I am stuffed with another hurry up rework!

Many will understand why I avoided 903 for a long time. However eventually (a couple of weeks ago) I thought it might be safe.

                  How wrong I was.

Yet again something that worked in one vertion has stopped working because of a quirk in Actinic.

The problem only became apparent after we cleared out the SiteHTML folder and did a refresh because something else stopped working. By that time it was to late to revert to the previous version.
