SMTP Server wrong and right ?

I have a few sites on the one actinic. Each of them uses identical email details.

One of them has decided its going to stop sending emails (nothing has been changed). When I run a test it says that the smtp server is not a valid mail server - while it is the identical smtp server that all the other sites use.

Is there perhaps a setting i have overlooked somewere - What I cannot understand is why it suddenly stopped working, as the mail settings have literally not been touched for over a year.

Yes, we got that yesterday with 9.03

Was sending fine in the morning, and stopped doing so in the afternoon. We have our own dedicated server, so nothing had changed whatsoever, but it suddenly decided it didn't like it.

Change the smtp server to localhost, and untick the username/password option if you're using it, and it'll probably work for you. Did for us anyway.

You may have to do an upload after you do the test.

I hope you have better luck than we have had. We've been running v9.03 since last week (forced upgrade from 9.02 to fix a custom tax bug which we encountered), and we have not had a single day in which we have not had to contact Actinic because of some problem or other with unshipped orders/custom tax/e-mail etc..

I am rapidly losing patience, as I could be doing something constructive rather than repeatedly uploading snapshots, chasing people up, and waiting days for a response, only to be told that it will be fixed in the next release.

It's difficult enough running a business in the present climate without having to waste time on unnecessary problems.
