Blank MOTO form - Fix

I thought I would post this as I know a number of you have been experiencing issues with a blank MOTO form in v9.

To resolve this issue:

1. Go to Design|Themes|Advanced Themes Configuration|Advanced Page
Configuration, scroll to the bottom. For the line /Moto Form/, select
MotoForm / MainArea

2. Go to the Library, open the MOTOForm selector. On the Values tab,
remove and re-add the /Standard MOTO Form/ layout.

We are adding this into the KB with detailed instructions.

Expand 'MOTO Form' and you will see 'MOTOForm'.

Sorry, just wanted to post it quickly to give an update while we are writing a more detailed KB article.

Well I'm obviously being very stupid and looking somewhere very different to where I should be. Attached is where I am looking. There's nothing of that name on the other tabs either. And nor is it in the drop down list on the Design tab.

This will not work in all situations.
Don't forget that you must also have a PSP that supports MOTO or it won't show anyway.

Also, and more importantly, if you have made any mods to the layout, ie, you have done some design work, then if you use this solution be prepared to lose your style and your site revert to Vanilla.

Here are some more complete and step-by-step instructions:

1. Select 'Themes' from the 'Design' menu
2. Click 'Advanced Themes Configuration'and select the 'Page Layouts' tab
3. Click 'Advanced Page Configuration', and scroll to the very bottom of the list.
4. For Page type 'Moto Form', select 'MotoForm' in the 'Outer Layout Selector' column, and 'MainArea' in the 'Inner Layout Selector' column
5. Click 'OK', and 'OK' again
6. Select 'Library' from the 'Design' menu
7. Right click and select 'Find'
8. Select the 'Layouts' tab, scroll down to 'MOTO Form' and click the '+' icon to expand it
9. Double-click the 'MOTOForm' layout selector (not the 'MOTO form' layout - the one under it with no space and a circular icon)
10. Click the 'Values' tab
11. Remove and re-add the 'Standard MOTO Form' layout.
12. Click 'OK' and 'Close'

I don't think I've missed anything, but let me know if you still can't find your way through.

Bruce - steps 1-4 were done. No changes were required as 'MotoForm' in the 'Outer Layout Selector' column, and 'MainArea' in the 'Inner Layout Selector' column were already in place.

Step 8 is where I have problems. There is no MOTO Form in the layouts list.

Do you have V9 Business?

Yes (adds random words to make up necessary 10 characters).

Change the nOuterVar to 65880.

Unfortunately those IDs can change, so that won't work for everyone's site, it may only work for your own, and it may fall over again next time you upgrade.

There is no MOTO Form in the layouts list.

That looks like you have another issue as well, then, or else your problem has a similar symptom but a different cause.

You will need to contact Support about that, unless anyone here can shed any light on it. If you have v9 Business, the MOTO layouts should be available in the Library.

Am wondering if it's because I upgraded from Catalog to Business rather than buying Business outright. In which case, it's an upgrading bug

Maybe Jules. If you have the new order tab, perhaps a design snapshot import will bring these in for you. Would you like me to do you one?

Lee that is a very kind offer. I do have the New Order tab and most of the time, it's available and I use it. Sometimes though it is just blank, which is why I thought Ben's fix would be worth implementing.

I will have another look through everything just to make sure I haven't missed the obvious (I don't think I have but you never know) and get back to you.

I will also call support in the morning and ask if they have come across this before.
