Completed Orders stay in Pending Orders section

We don't use Actinic for invoicing at all, and rarely print off a packing list, but all orders marked completed have always automatically slipped into the Completed tab, so perhaps you have altered a default condition at some stage?
Of course, don't ask me where as I don't have a clue

If you by-pass order processing (business settings) the order can be completed without printing.

I haven't seen this non completion bug since the move to 03 but we have rather got used to treating additions/deleations/back ordering with kid gloves to avoid it. Exporting the order will force it into the completed order tab.

As for beta testers not picking it up, I supplied with many others I am sure snapshots to test on actinics own test server and it would be an easy bug to re-create.

It may well be BUT actinic in house testers dont live in the real world - as we have seen time and time again, so IMO only live testing will show problems.

Hi All
I agree about live testing, it can help to pick up all the niggly little bugs that seem to escape the testing process. Also we want testers who are actively trying to break Actinic by using it in ways the designers might not think of.
I have (still am) been trying out the latest release using my own localhost server to see if I can find any nasty bugs before deploying it in the new year, as I can then place orders, cancel, delete and otherwise try and "test to destruction". I want to be 100% sure of the new release before I go live. The dissapearing products in the Beta test did not give me a lot of confidence, I experienced it 1st hand on loading it to my localhost server, very worrying.

Orders completed but stuck in 'pending'

We now have two orders (packing list and invoice printed) stuck in the 'pending' section, from Feb to now.
Running V9.0.3.1.
At this rate we will get one 'stuck' every month.
No valid reason as to why they are stuck there.
Just deleting them to get them out of there will screw up the accounting figures.

when did you upgrade to 9.0.3? orders already in the system will still remained stuck

you need to edit the database to move them, remember to backup before digging around.

We upgraded at the end of Jan '09. These are all NEW orders. None were left behind at the time of the upgrade. We also have a bunch of other issues going on too. Such as....
PayPal orders that are paid come back as unpaid and therefore go to the pending payment section.
We randomly have packing lists that print off partially blank. Only the top 1/3 appears and have no order number shown.
When we go to view or print off a tax report from the Reports section, Actinic crashes and closes.
Invoice takes 8-10 seconds to print off
We randomly get invoice that do not print out at all but show as printed.
etc. etc etc.
So far, very unhappy with V9. Wish we hadn't wasted $5k on V9 and stayed with Business V7 which was 99% perfect! Its really screwed up the efficiency of our company with all these gremlins and made everything way more time consuming when its primary purpose was to improve.

Sounds to me as if you have a database problem or bad installation.

Have you taken a snapshot and installed it on a different pc with clean v9 installation

If you highlight the affected order(s), right-click, then select re-export to files, create a file name (this can be overwritten for future use) then click ok - this works for me.

Same problem in v 8.5.1

Not using V 9 but have same problem in V 8.5.1 I was entering offline orders and encountered numerous problems and crashes. Editing any orders was a pain in the A**.

I have 1 order stuck in pending because I had to do a work around to fix an incorrect product entry. I finished with 2 cancelled orders and 1 incorrect product (because it crashes every time I try to add new item!!) and an adjustment. I have 25% shipped and 125% cancelled.

It simply will not move to completed. I do not have a right click export file option, must be new to v9.

I think the order section needs alot of work.

You have to enable export in business settings before it will appear on the menus (order processing tab I think), it's been available since V4 and maybe even before that.

Worried about upgrading

Why are you still using 8.5.1?

Have been building site on original software I purchased. I read lots of threads about upgrade issues. I guess I should get updates now and hope for the best.

V8.5.3 is very stable and full of improvements over 8.5.1. In the scheme of things a minor version upgrade is unlikely to give you any problems. Backup everything just in case and make a snapshot of the site for importing if needs be and you'll be fine.
