New user... Cart Problems

Hi everyone

I'm new on here and new to Actinic so please excuse me if I as for basic help.

I am setting up an Actinic site (obviously!) and am having two problems. I have spent several days trying solutions on here but just can't seem to get it to work... Thankfully the snapshots have enabled me to roll things back.

I am using the smart theme for this...

This problem involves the shopping cart... If I place and order it updates the cart. However it I go to another page on my site the cart is empty. If I then select view cart my items are all there!!!

It would seem I am short of a cookie somewhere so does anyone know what code and where I should place it to keep this upto date?

P.S. The other problem... well that's a different topic so I will pop it in another post if you fancy giving me two for the price of one

I seem to remember this problem is caused when your site jumps from www to non www URLs, and something might need changing in the Network Settings.

A search of the forum should throw up several related threads with more details. Sorry I can't be more specific but I am not experienced enough yet to advise in detail.
