In the name field prefix the surname with an '*'

    try

    *smith

    and see what you get.

        OK - let me rephrase

        try

        *[surname]

replacing the [surname] with a name you know to be in your order history. This should find the order. Make sure this is in Name, not Last Name prompt.

How is your site set up for names? First Name, Last Name separately or all on one line in the checkout?

This makes a difference for searching.

While you're at it, ensure that you are on the relevant order tab (e.g. Completed), also that the tick box "Incremental" in the search box is not checked.

If you have any other fields filled in which are not relevant to the current search, clear them.

            ive worked out whats happening

i thought smith hadnt worked but then i scrolled up the orders and there they were. in version 8 it used to highlight one order at a time and you had to keep selecting find next

although this new way is better it doesnt automatically 'take' you to the order

i hope all the above makes sense

            thanks anyway

              Hi Rafiq,

If you tick the 'incremental' box (right-hand side) then it will highlight the first order with the search criteria and you can then press F3 to move you to the next order. Without that ticked it moves and highlights all relevant orders to the top of the list.
