    Shopping Cart Issue

    Hello,

    I had a customer contact us this morning with the following;

I have just checked web site again and yep it is still giving me the
    > enable
    > cookies error. As I mentioned I use many websites all with no problems
    > .....my cookies are clearly enabled!

I seached on the forum and found a fix (increase shopping cart cookie expiry to 24 hours), this moved things on, however he is now experincing the following behaviour, I have tried searching the forum but haven't been able to find anything relavent, any help much appreciated.

may have spoken too soon...i can now add things to my basket ok but each new
item seems to replace the item already in there. cant get past one item,
although all seems to be working ok apart from this i.e. 'continue' 'check
out'etc and I get no error messages just whatever Ive added to basket
vanishes when i add something else...curious!

    Cheers,

    Frenchy.

Try getting the customer to check the time zone and / or date on his computer. If he's set on the wrong time zone then the cookie can self delete straight away as it's already past it's expiry time.

      Hello,

Thanks for the response, I have asked the customer who confirms that his date/time is correct, however I noticed on email reply that the time stamp is a day in advance, this must be connected to the problem.

Either he is wrong about the date/time on his PC or he is getting a time stamp from somewhere else, I would have thought as we are dealing with cookies here it would have to be the PC, unless someone has a different view, maybe a proxy server of ISP, any thoughts?

      Cheers,

      Frenchy.

It looks very likely that he has his PC set a day in advance. That would explain his cookie problem and the wrong date on his emails.

Got him to re-check, his time was correct, date was wrong! Thanks for all your help.
