very slow switching between sites

We are using Business Plus and have 4 sites in total.

With version 9.0.2 we experienced problems switching between sites, very slow, sometimes completely crashed if you clicked the mouse before it had finished loading.

Once we upgraded to 9.0.3 this was solved except for 1 of the 4 sites. Changing to and from this site is painfully slow and feels very unstable. I have a feeling of impending doom whenever we need to switch to it. I think one day it won't load at all.

I tried creating a new site and importing snapshot but still the same.

Is this a sign of corruption?

Are you switching sites with a page preview open, even if not in the visible window?
Have you tried switching with no previews open at all. Does it have any effect?
Could be code or content on this one particular site that is causing the delay in switching.

I've seen it happen with site that are using one of these secure site logos which link to external content. As Tracy says if you have one of these and the preview window is open then that can cause loading to hang.

Well, I switched off the preview. It didn't seem to make any difference.

I then tried switching off the 'Design' and 'Content' tabs just leaving the 'Orders' tab in the problem site.

Now when changing I can see it loading quite fast but the dialog box hangs there in front. The blue tick takes well over a minute to change to the right site and even then something is working in the background.

After 20 seconds or so I'm able to click OK.

A weird one.

I've just upgraded my sites from v903 to v904 and am now experiencing a huge delay when switching between sites. I've tried the above suggestions but no joy.

I'm using Business Plus.

Any thoughts..

We've always experienced slow sites when switching and our sites are not large sites, I assumed it was a function of the software. Bring on the ability to have more than one site open at a time as it is soo difficult to take telephone orders when you have to switch sites live on the phone D

We have always accepted it's slow closing down one site then opening the next one in Bus+ so we just take MOTO orders in the big large sell all site to save wasting time
