    Lee & Tracy.

Thanks for the help so far, i have been playing with settings and watching uploads as they happen.

I can see the scripts are being written correctly, ActinicDirectory.pl, ActinicMailTest.pl and a couple of other files get written as well.

When i click next to confirm email settings ActinicMailTest.pl gets kicked out of the cgi-bin (755).

I have stummble upon Gabriels posting 26 July 2007 "completely useless error messages" http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=31896

    My File ActinicMailTest.pl
    C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\ActinicMailTest.pl

Is Flipping showing #!NETQUOTEVAR:PERLPATH in the header.

Where can i find all the correct Perl files?

having read Gabe's post, it seems his solution was to replace the mail script, thus have you

      copied formmail.pl from C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Original\Formmail.pl to site1 and refreshed?

Have you contacted your hosts to see if they made any changes (eg CGI bin, new version of PERL etc) without telling you?

Hi there, I have checked your mailform and tried to send an email, got the blank page, so checked the error log, and see

2008/12/14 12:01, Internal Errors = Unable to connect to the mail socket (Connection timed out)
So it is trying to send an email, but it cannot connect to the email server, I would check what you have in network setup, (might be an idea to put in localhost in there) or if it was working before but not failed, contact the hosting company and ask them have they changed your smtp server, It looks like they have changed it.

                    Kind Regards

in the v9 folder there is a file called mail2hst.txt this lists the requirement to host an actinic site.

either send this to a potential host or go to actinic website to see recommended hosts or search this forum for hosting recommendations

That good to know, Yeah Localhost sometimes works really, so glad it worked for you. If it didn't, then you would need to put in the smtp server, plus username and password
