How to rectify past section errors

    Hi,

We are spending time sorting out our Actinic website.

We ar elsited on google and get visitors, however we are getting links to pages with bad section names.

    For example: http://www.gofrostfire.com/acatalog/...f_moonbag.html

Really we would like it to say moonbag.html

obviously if we correct it we will lsoe the Google traffic.

Should we move this page to somewhere not visible to the consumer, recreat the page with new text and then make this life in the smae position on the site as the link above.

Or do you recommend we just leave it as it is?

    regards
    chris

If you are hosted on Linux you can set a permanent redirection from copy_of_moonbag to moonbag. Then change the page name to moonbag and you're finished. Any old links will be redirected to the new page name and in time Google will index the new page. Only do a few at a time though, so Google doesn't see a major change to too many pages at once.

      Chris,

Just be aware that you already have a page named "moonbag.html", so if you simply edit out the "copy_of_" portion you will get a duplicate page name warning when you upload.

Try an use something relevant but unique.
