    Advice on using sub domains

    Hi,

We are looking to setup a wordpress blog called say www.frostfireblog.com for an existing www.gofrostfire.com actinic ecommerce website.

Would be wise to redirect www.frostfieblog.com to www.blog.gofrostfire.com

I now zappos.com has had great success with this tactic.

GoFrostfire.com has a PR of 4, so we may as well add to this and use it.

    regards
    Chris

As there is no longer any benefit of using a subdomain over a folder on your site (ie. sub.domain.com and domain.com/sub) due to changes in (particularly) Google's algorithms earlier this year, I would use a sub-domain for your blog on the same site you host your Actinic site on - and interlink the both of them. Let's face it, you're adding a blog for no other reason than to get content-rich pages which hopefully consumers will search and find, thus letting them find your online store to convert to sales. It's becoming a bit of common practise nowadays, a lot of niche stores are branching out this way as it's an easy and successful way to get targeted traffic into your ecommerce site.
