A few quick comments:

I think the view basket should be easier to find than its current position in the left menu under the navigation menu, maybe in the top left or top right corner.

The same applies to the search box.

In the "Cat" section, a "7" appear at the bottom of each page.

You need to add more information about your company including address, returns policy, T&C's, etc, maybe this is missing as you have stated the customer service menu doesn't yet work.

I would prefer to see the use of single product per page to improve SEO, rather than the use of pop-ups.
You may also want to consider making the product name clickable so it brings up the product details.

The "View Basket" button doesn't work and I could not find a way to get to the checkout.

Best advice is to go and read all the other site review requests, take a lot of notes, then look at your own site and if you cannot then see what's wrong with yours, as well as working out how to fix it, then come back here and ask again.

There is more than enough advice on all the other site review threads to keep you occupied until the end of January 2009!

i now there is a lot of reading on forum as i am reading now all i wanted was a little view as to what ppl thought of site in general i will read all other replys to ppl site reviews but all site are not the same.

95% of site reviews focus on the exact same things, usability and readability, so most are in fact the same. The fact that colours may be different or layouts work slightly different is neither here nor there. It is the function, not the colour that generally counts in a review. Colours (unless hideous) are often subjective areas of the market.

With regards to your site, i actually quite like the initial feel, looks modern and vibrant and gets my interest (I have 4 cats and a terrapin). Sadly it is not even half baked in this state and basic fundamentals are not there or not working. When you are that far away, it is much better to look at other reviews and pick up the basics (put 4 wheels and tyres on a car before you try to sell it in other words).

You have put it up for review way too early IMO, because when you actually need the review in a week or two's time, people will be bored of it, having already seen it. I can understand the excitement to get people's opinions, but you have to show them something 80-90% done, not 50%. If you disagree that it is only 50% done, then there lies your problem.

Although each site is different many of the comments will apply still apply and I have found that reading through the various reviews provides ideas that can be applied to our own sites.

The same comments appear over and over, often concerning the placement of certain elements and basic rules to follow.

Keep plugging away at your site and follow the advise given by the forum members here and I am sure you will end you up with a good site.
