Customer Accounts Software

I've been looking to start using customer accounts.

I need something to
- Keep customers informed of their order process
- Setup Customer accounts
- Give customers x discount if they spend x amount in a period of time
- Automatically send people their password if they forget it

I've been looking at 2 things to help do this and I'm not sure which one to go for - can anyone who has used these give me some feedback ?

Can you work out who your best customers are with this tool ?

For some reason the link on his website takes you to an error page (http://www.interact-studio.co.uk/acatalog/) Look for the large banner saying "Order History for Actinic", perhaps he is working on the site or is unaware of the error.
