Free is you spend £100 or more

I have a product that I have hidden on the website, as I dont want to sell it but give it away.

How can I get the item to appear in the shopping basket automatically when the shopper spends £100 or more.

I have been looking around but can not see how to do this

    Can any one help?

This seems a sensible way around it - not tried it out myself yet, but hopefully it does work as I do intend to use it one day soon!

    Cheers

The product does not get added but you have to go get it.

Surely there must be a way to offer this promotion with the item automatically being added to the cart?

        Hi,

The product does not get added but you have to go get it.
I'm afraid that this is how it works because you may give the customer a choice of free products. It is already on our wishlist to have a product added automatically so I'll add your vote to it.

          Hi Tracey.
Add mine as well it would be very useful. Happy new year to all.

            Hi Andrew,

We played with, and found a way of, getting Actinic to automatically add a specific product to the cart when the cart value triggered a certain amount.
The problem we struck was being able to remove the product from the basket when the cart was amended and the cart value dropped back below the trigger amount.
Adding to the cart was the easy part - removing from cart, without having to perform additional perl coding amendments, was a development path we decided to avoid.

Not sure if that would help you or not.
