    Complex pricing

Hi. I'm building a site for a book printing company. I can't get my head around the best way to setup the pricing.

There are lots of variables which each have an impact on the final price. For example:

    Size: A5, A4, Journal.
    Quantity: 0-50, 51-100...upto 1000
    Sides: 0-50, 51-100...upto 300
    Colour pages: 1,2,3,4....upto 50
    And lots more options.

I have calculated I would have to manually enter 36,000 permutations

Is there a better way to do it such as import an excel file which contains lots of calculations?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

You would have to import as a hierarchical file so I would suggest setting up one product with some choices/permutations on it and export the catalog so you can see how it needs to be set up, but I'm not sure this will save you any time in the long run.

I would look at ways of reducing the number of choices a customer has to make on the product itself, for example, set up separate products for A4, A5 and Journal (probably using SPP to make things easier for the customer), use quantity based pricing (available in Business only).
