Footer gone?

Hello,
Recently noticed I have lost the ability to have a footer, the field is still there in the site options but no text entered there is visible on the site?

My guess would be that you've deleted the footer layout or footer text variable from your overall layout.

Thank you, I guess if I'm brave I could search for the code in the layout of a blank site and paste it in...
