    SSL Certificate

Just about to order a new SSL certificate and was wondering what you reckon the best option is. We are currently in the process of moving from shared hosting over to a dedicated server.

Was looking on godaddy.co.uk but im not sure on what is the best certificate to use?

    Thanks in advance!

I haven't read any good reports about godaddy. Seems wise to avoid imo

We use geotrust - can't say we've ever had any issues.

          Hang on

Are we talking about a SSL from go daddy or a server?

For dedicated then you could always look at pinbrook, they do full and shared. Jo can also sort you out ssl's

          Webfusion is another

SSL's can be brought from a few companies these days, but there are various options, green address bar ones, wild card one e.t.c

It really all depnds on what you're looking for. If you just want the golden padlock then Godaddy might be OK and at £10.29 / year are the cheapest I've seen.

There should be no problems as long as it's installed correctly. If you want to check out what others have seen try searching google for "godaddy ssl problems".

Based on other threads and a clients experience with godaddy, I'd stay clear. They cheap because they're crap!!!

before buying SSL you need to check with your host.

some hosts will install for you, but only their chosen SSL, other hosts will let yo self install.

The bigger SSL vendors are verisign, thwaite, comodo and geotrust.
