Have you imported a snapshot with tried and tested network settings or is this a new site? If you do a network test what happens?

Hmmmmm, have you closed down Actinic since you upgraded? Sometimes this can striaghten it out. Also are you doing a publish or a web refresh?

Graham you say you have tried changing script id's but sometimes this fails unless you

Change the script id to a number you have not previously tried, then close actinic and compact the db (do not try an upload after changing the script id)

Then restart your pc, then actinic then do nothing but click site refresh.

Failing that then a purge and refresh fron the trouble shooting menu, this will replace and script mods you have made.

              Hi

              Thanks for that

I have done as you suggested everything looked fine then the upload

stalled at the end so I had to re-start actinic again and then

I had the same problem again ?

                Actinic Hanging On Upload

I was searching through the community to get a resolve when I found this post and noted that there was no resolution. As the post from Darren B resolved my problem I wanted to say thanks and throw my tuppence in.
For reasons unknow both my actinic sites started failing with the merge request error (one site is v8 the other v9)
I tried multiple things but could not get the errors to stop.
I tried a full web refresh
I ran chmod on the folders to make sure these were correct
                It still didnt work.
I then checked the scripts on my host and for some reason known only to fasthosts they had disabled cgi scripting, so I got this switched back on (btw fasthosts claim thay cannot and will not change acatalog to 777 permissions as it is a security risk but my chmod script completed with no errors)
                v8 Site now worked
                v9, still played silly buggers
Tried regenerating scripts with some trepidation, no difference, so did a full purge and refresh.
Now when trying to upload I got no error! but no upload screen details either
The cursor just sat flashing between hourglass and pointer, but essentially doing nothing. Panic set in at this point. I checked all the settings, and tested them and everything was apparantly hunk dory.
Then I came across the suggestion from Darren B regarding the script ID. I had problems with script ID's on this in the past so figured it was more than worth a try. Changed it from 3 to 7, publish to web, yipee the upload screen came up, and completed (admittedly after a few timeouts but what the hey)
                Thanks in advance!

Try doing a search on Fasthosts on this forum.
You'll get some idea of the scale of issues that people have had with them.

If you want some real fun, try moving a .com site away from them.
I'm into my fourth week of trying on behalf of a client.
