V8.0 on a Vista laptop

Just installed an (apparently) unused copy of v8 on my laptop (with Vista).

I wanted to upgrade an existing v6 site from another computer.

It didn't like the snaphot import for some reason, and I could only get it to import if I run Actinic as an administrator.
Now I can only see my work-in-progress when I run Actinic as administrator and the basic install site when I run it normally.
How is this possible, what is going on?

Any tips for upgrading from V6 to V8???

Make sure you are using the latest version 853 from here:

Thank you, it was a version issue.

Now to sort out the design/layout issues....
I just knew it couldn't be a straightforward upgrade

if going from V6 or V7 to V8, then do not upgrade, start afresh is the general consensus. Just use the product info, as that will be fine.

Not sure if this is related or not...

The preview windows show my site as expected, however when I select the 'Offline Previews' options it shows the basic installation site and not mine...
