problem testing web server's Perl environment when using wizard to publish site

I'm using the wizard to publish the site and have answered Yes to "Would you like to have mail sent to you when new orders arrive? Or send mail to your customers confirming their order? "

I fill in the email address and SMTP Server details and click next. There is a long pause then I get the message "The wizard received an unexpected exception while testing the web servers Perl environment. "

Has anybody any experience of this and how to fix it?
    Thank

If you search for the network settings of your host you will find what the SMTP setting are as they are not always obvious.

          They are nativespace.com

No, this is the first time I've tried to publish the site.

What they gave me is mail.salonstartup.co.uk

I've never heard of them but try local host in the smpt field. They may not work with actinic so it may just be easier to move to a host that is known to work with actinic. Discussed recently so you will soon find the usual ones people use
