    Options/Permutations Collapse

    Another day; Another annoyance.

Today it's the Options lists on products collapsing.

The category tree for one TLS is as follows:

    -Section
    - Sub Section
    - Product
    - Type1
    - Blue
    - Red
    - Green
    - Type2
    - Blue
    - Red
    - Green
    - Type3
    - Blue
    - Red
    - Green
    - Type4
    - Blue
    - Red
    - Green

So, this one product is available in four types - in this case, it's the fabric quality (Grade A-D), each fabric grade can come in several colours.

I found myself needing to change 'Green' to 'Yellow' in all four types after manufacturing changes.

After expanding all four 'Type' options for simplicity, if I click on Type1 Green, change the value to Yellow and click Apply, Type2-Type4 all collapse (ie. hide the colour options) - which means I have to expand them as I change, which results in a loss of even more time in the day.

One can only assume this is standard Actinic behaviour, but logically this shouldn't be happening. Or am I going mad under the illusion that Actinic is there to help save time?

    Hi Grant,

I can't recreate this in a default site, however, have you tried not clicking 'Apply' and just going to the next 'type' choice as it should then automatically apply the change you just made.

      Tracey,

      Thanks for the reply.

What you say in theory could work, but logically thinking - who's logic was it to create an 'Apply' button if it's not necessary? I find 9.0.3 crashes a lot, so tend to do what it wants me to do, and a button for confirmation to Apply changes made is the best way to do that.

There seems to be more and more crashes occurring with this current site, perhaps I'll contact support in the morning to give the database the once-over, as the site is fully functional in terms of uploading/downloading and processing orders - it's just when I move products, categories, make design changes, or make changes in the Design Library.

Then I'll be back to following Actinic's Irish logic by not clicking the obvious Apply button - though it must come as second nature as I don't know if I click it or not

      Thanks,
      Grant

Well it is necessary if you are just doing one thing to one product/layout etc, and you know we'd have had hundreds of complaints if we hadn't included one

If you are experiencing a lot of crashes then it would be best to get support to take a look at your site and obviously supply as much info as possible including the dump files and exactly what you are doing leading up to and when the crashes occur.

As you may have seen from my thread from this morning, Actinic's well and truly dead now. So much so that in 253,871+ comments, nobody seems to have experienced it

Back to the drawing board I think.

          Cheers,
          Grant
