        changed ./acatalog to ../acatalog

Searching still seems broken though carting and checkouting look ok

Will try Darren's ftp account advice again

Not sure why you quoted my post for this reply, you didn't follow a scrap of what it says?

To be fair though Mal this hosting is probably £18.50 cheaper, so good value bearing in mind the time spent.

Looking at your signature gubbins, I suspect this stuff is closer to your day job than mine!

Right, did this and it passed the network test, so I republished it to the web.

As it was doing so, the following message popped up

'A page named 'C:\Documents and Settings\Adrian\My Documents\Actinic v9\Sites\Site1\SiteHTML\index.html' has already been generated for the section 'Online Catalogue'. The same page name is used for the brochure page 'Home' and therefore the previously created page will be overwritten.
Do you wish to continue the upload?'

                      I clicked Yes

                      Then further on it said

'Warning: The HTML templates specify source files (with "SRC=" commands) that reside in directories other than the Online Store Folder on the web site. Actinic can not handle these files and they are being omitted from the list of files to upload.
No source files in the templates should have a path. Store them in the site specific directory locally, and they will be uploaded to the Actinic web directory.'

With no other option I clicked OK

                      Anyway

                      1) Still get hosting page if url is salonstartup.co.uk
                      2) Still shows correct site if stick /acatalog after the above
                      3) Still can't click on item under New Products without getting
'A General Script Error Occurred......' error

It is my day job but what you have got to realize is that actinic will not work on all hosts so it's best to go with one that is known to work. Talk to tametheweb if you need to talk or if you are happy go to my website and get the network settings for webfusionn. But I strongly suggest you talk to an actinic specialist host like darren.

Fair enough, I'm slightly struck between a rock and hard place having already paid for hosting with nativespace but now conscious that all hosts are not the same and they may be one on which actinic will not work.

Most offer a refund with a set timescale, you should get at least 7 days to decide.

Cheers, the only problem is that I've been sat on this since August last year. I'll hack around for a bit longer before cutting my losses.
