    Using Archive::Zip on Server

    Hello.

Finally ready to move our live site to our new server. I have uploaded Actinic (v9.0.3) onto the new server before the extra PERL modules (Archive::Zip, Digest::MD5 and ActEncrypt1024) were installed on the server.

As far as I'm aware, Actinic checks for the existence of the Archive::Zip module on the first upload.

As I have installed the modules after the first upload, will Actinic ever re-check for these modules? Alternatively, how can I force Actinic to check for them?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Grant

Go into network settings and switch it back on, actinic switches it off when it first tries if not there, so you can just switch it back on and then upload.

DOH! Network Settings > FTP Options.

      What can I say?

      Thanks Lee

Like an evil necromancer, i resurrect this thread.

How can I tell if this worked?

My error.err shows "10:29:45, Internal Errors = unknown command :extract:"

          Does this mean fail?

Funny you mention this Gabe. I (finally!) got all the required Perl modules installed, and tested the installation via the command line - and everything appeared to be OK. However, Actinic's error log did produce the same error as yours, so I've no idea if it works - the checkbox in FTP Options is still checked, so....

I 'believe' that if your checkbox remains checked after an upload, it is setup and installed OK.

That's exactly what I was thinking Lee, but why did Actinic log a fault?

Can somebody with Archive::Zip installed on their server and likes to waste time, fancy unchecking the box, uploading, then re-checking the box and uploading - just to see what happens in the error log. Somebody's got to be bored enough, surely?

furthermore, is there any test code i can upload to ensure that my modules are installed correctly?

my server says they are, but I dont think its working.

You must make sure all the modules are installed, i found it will not work if you only have Archive::zip installed.

Im sure you can see it working if you have an active ftp session and then do a site refresh. you should be able to see the files upload

As i understand it, when this is working, we no longer see the individual files upload? They all upload as a single compressed file?
