Marketing lists do they work?

Hey all, I've been looking at the Overlay option in Google Analytics | Content and the figures are show that not one person has ever clicked on the "New Products" list.

The list was tucked away under the LHS navigation, so I created a RHS column and put there some weeks ago to see if things improved

Granted, these lists do change, but I'd have expected to see at least 1 click recorded somewhere.

Does anyone have any recorded clicks against they're Marketing Lists?

My side bar new arrivals list brings in a little, what brings the most is a 3 panel "we can also recommend" locked best sellers list at the foot of each each page.

It think it is how they are presented as I know a couple of sites which take a lot via the marketing lists.

I think that's the key. I'll run with the new position for a little longer, before making more changes.

I was interested to see if GA users were seeing similar results really, because these are auto changed, it may be the case that Google doesn't display the clicks because the info lays over the current site.

Related products are a real winner IMO.

Couldn't agree more, those are are going in too. I only wish, when you searched for your related products you could select more than one at a time...

Speak to Norman about his new addon, just added it to a site being built, veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrry goooooooooooooooooooooooooood. Greybox popup with add to cart, staying on the main product page too, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

if you must have a marketing list always have it in the right column - thats where people expect it to be. Personally i think the actinic ones ares a waste of time (and doubles/triples upload time), hardcoded link lists can be of benefit

but if you have SPP you'd be daft not to use also boughts and related products - with images.
