If product X is added and order is over £X refund £X?

How do I set up a discount/refund of £15 IF:

The order value exc VAT is (£300 or over) AND product (X) has been ordered?

Basically its a charge of £15 we allow customers to add (once) for design.

If they order products over the value of £300 we wish to refund that £15 in the checkout.

I've messed around but can't seem to clarify the settings.

OK...here goes

I have set a product up called 'Origination Setup Fee' of which you can only one, at a cost of £15.

What I want is for a customer with a cart value of £300 exc VAT or more on an order including this product to recieve a refund of £15 (matching the cost of the Origination Setup Fee).

I have sassigned the 'Origination Setup Fee' up in a product group, for the discounts to pick it up. It is the only product assigned to a group.



I have enabled a discount based upon cart contents, with a trigger value of £300 for the customer to recieve a refund of £15.



This doesn't seem to recognise the discount and as such no discount is applied.

Try it at http://www.justpromoproducts.co.uk. Simply add products to your basket to a value of over £300, add the Origination Setup Fee and check the sheet in the Checkout.

No discount applied - help :$

It's because the only product that the discount is going to work on is the 'origination fee' as that is the only one in the product group. As that is only £15 it is never going to get to the £300 that is required to trigger the discount. I can't see a way of doing exactly what you want because even if you created a product group that contained all of your products the customer wouldn't have to add the 'origination' product to the basket to get the discount if the order totalled over £300.

Perhaps then in the next version of Actinic there should be an option to allow a discount if a)the cart value exceeds £x.xx or more and b)Product X is in the cart.

It would have to be based upon simple logical algorithms like IF and AND muchlike any basic flow argument, but I don't need to tell the developers how to implement this of course.

Just a thought. It's a discount model used in many retail sectors.

Hi Paul,

I've been given a suggestion on how this can work by looking at it in a different way although there are limitations:

- set up a product group to include all the products that are eligible for the discount on the 'origination' product but do not include the 'origination' product itself (note that you can only have a product in one group at a time)

- set up the discount with the following options:

enabled - ticked
based on - Value excluding tax
trigger - £300
product group - the one created above
reward type - % off extra product
reward amount - 100
product radio button - selected
select the 'origination' product from the drop-down box

So in this case, if the origination product has been added to the basket and the basket value exceeds £300 (excluding the origination product value), the discount is applied. However, as you have other product groups set up, you will either have to remove them and add all of your products to one group or only have the discount apply to certain products in your catalog.
