how have you got the pricing setup on your options, sum of products and componants, have you entered a price in the options but have actinic set to use product price only?

you need to make sure you only have the price entered in one place

I had thought this too, but if it was a pricing issue, wouldn't the cost follow through to check out?

The problem seems to be that the price is wrong when first adding to cart but correct when you go back and view the cart.

This points to something other than the way the product is setup.

tbh, Suzanne, I would suggest that, if Rich's suggestion of increasing the script ID (Web > Network Setup > CGI Script ID Number ), clearing the cgi-bin (via FTP) and refreshing doesn't work, you ought to contact support about it instead.

As Lee said, it seems to be more of a script/cookie problem than a setup one.

I had problems, in the past, with a shipping error that did this. Was wrong when adding to cart but correct when you went back to view.
Out of interest, are they duplicates that are giving this problem and, if so, do the originals do it also?

I do have a few duplicate products but its not just them thats having a problem it seems to be certain departments - clothing, footwear so far. Some of the sections work fine

            ok
I notice you have these set up with associated products. Are they only products with associated products (ie sizes/colour linked to, most likely, hidden products) that are affected?
What do you have the pricing model of the main products set to?
            Product Price?
or Sum of component prices (you can only use this if your associated products have the prices entered and you select the 'Pricing' in the Permutations tab of the components to 'Associated product price' or if the price is entered into the permutation itself)

Just trying to work out how it's set up to see if there's something out of the norm that isn't working quite right

              Hi Tracey,

In the permutations section should I have selected:

              Component Prices
              Override
              Associated Product Prices

They are all currently set to override

well, using override is ok as long as everything else is setup ok.
So your permutations have a price entered then?
Can you take a screenshot of your permutations and post it? (make sure your columns are shrunk narrow enough so all are visible on the screen)
What is the pricing model of the main product set as? (On the product > General Tab)

                      ok...interesting
                      And the pricing model?
Is it set to 'Product Price' or 'sum of product and component prices'?
If the latter, change to 'Product Price' and see if that makes a difference

(I assume the screenshot you posted was of a product that you KNOW gives this error?)

The products are imported from a spreadsheet and the permutations have a price against them in there is that what you mean ?

                            oh??
I would have expected that price to show in the permutations tab then. I assume the associated product itself has a price then?

I would still check that the Pricing model, on the general tab of the product, is set to 'Product Price'

sorry if im poking my nose in, you have overide and link to the component im not saying this is wrong, but wonder if there is a quirk that is causing your problem

i use associated product price and set the product to sum of components only. is this not easier as you already have it linked to the individual products
