to Actinic

Hi,
I have been asked if its possible to turn an existing webstore built using (Joomla) into an Actinic site.
I have been into the site Admin panel and have exported the products using 'CSV Improved' into csv files. However these files contain lots of html and cant be used to import into actinic.

Has anyone used (Joomla) before?

Why not reformat them into an actinic acceptable format? What's stopping you deleting the unwanted html?

I thought about that. The html is everywhere. It took me a long time to pick out the html from one line. I have over 2,500 lines to go.

If the HTML is purely informative then just do a global replace of all < with !!<< and > with >>!! and Actinic will be happy with it.

You may as well just highlight and C&P the text directly off the existing web page and rip the website to get the images.

If you remove all the HTML from that description part of the file you get

So passing it through some tag stripping code may be enough. Only the first item is of use and the other two lines are extraneous. Not hard to delete automatically.

I did a Joomla to Actinic conversion that way recently, you can download the pictures from the site if you have access but the picture files names are totally meaningless so no use for SEO. I couldn't find a way to access the Joomla databases to get a decent download that I could transfer to Actinic so it was all be hand. I also took the front page and put it through Dreamweaver to design a template for Actinic to keep the look of the site.
