Actinic Closes Whilst Making A Snapshot

On a side note - does Actinic v903 only use one FTP connection to upload?

I seem to think someone (Nadeem?) said on Twitter, when Darren asked that question, that, when using Enhanced FTP, Actinic uses only one connection.

I'm not sure otherwise though. He may have answered with and without Enhanced FTP, I can't recall.

If u r using Use Enhanced FTP connection, Actinic will open that one connection only, and keep it alive.

If you are not using Enhanced FTP connection, then Actinic may open upto 6 ftp connections

Unusual terminology - you might think it was the other way around.

I'll check the settings tomorrow morning after the upload has (hopefully\) finiished - daren't stop it now.

That doesn't seem right, but if it came from the horses mouth...

Can we rename 'Use Enhanced FTP' to 'Should be quicker but somebody didn't quite get the terminology right'?

Off to test this and see whether or not using Enhanced FTP improves the upload times or not, although I've already got the answer in my mind.

There are several old threads on this subject but the only way with v7 to do this was build the site and then use the email reciept copy function to send order copies to the site owner.

Of course you would have to maintain each site as they woud not have actinic of any form but the biggest problem would be the fact that you never recieve each and every email and so orders will go missing.

Back to my original posting.

The overnight upload stopped with a duplicated image filename.
Still unable to create a snapshot as Actinic just closes down during the process even though post upload page checks now complete ok.


Time for Actinic support. I hope they're going to come up trumps.
