    Checkout Process Is Unssecure

I currently run an online table tennis store and when you go to checkout, it says it is not secure. On my other actininc websites the checkout is actually hosted on actinic website itself however for this site it is now. if you see the attached image file for the issues numberd:

    1. It is Hosted On My Domain unlike other websites
    2. there is no padlock to say the site is secure
    3. the padlock is found here which does not look very trustworthy.

I would appreciate any suggests to why it might be doing this

    LOL, is this a wind-up?
That payment method died about 4-5 years ago.
Have a read up on PCI-DSS if you are not extracting the urine.
You need to use a PSP.

NO I did not have a clue this payment died 5 years ago. I only made this site under a year ago so the site isnt 5 years old and it was built in actinic v9. and to answer your first question no its not a wind up I was asking how I change it to the new one, not how old it was
        Kind Regards,
        Simon

You think? it looks like the applet to me, although it is a 4-5 year distant memory I must admit. It was certainly mentioned by both myself and Simon in that post, yet he has no idea what we are talking about. I think we are back to the original idea of Simon being a ringer lol.

You need to use a PSP - (Payment Service Provider). There are various ones integrated with actinic, you have to use one of those and the first one to investigate using is probably the one you were told about in the other thread - Actinic Payments, been as you were/are a shared SSL user.

Re reading the Starter Guide - Start / All Programs / Actinic v9 / Starter Guide / Page 38'ish - "Taking Payments" will help.

If you RTFM then you will find:

In the 'Capture Method' area, there are three options:
                    · Standard SSL or unencrypted – If you have access to your own Secure SSL (https) server then select this option.
                    · Shared SSL: Several companies (including Actinic Software) will rent you space on their secure server on a monthly or annual basis for you to use to secure your customers' payment details.
                    · Actinic In-Built Encryption (Java Applet): This method is only kept to ensure continuity with older versions of Actinic and should no longer be used.

As this doesn't allow the seller to be PCI-DSS compliant, this must be Actinic inadvertently allowing the seller to break the law(?) Actinic - get rid of the feature as we all (should) know nobody should be using it.

Maybe if they get rid of it there will be one less variable to cause crashes when dabbling with Actinic? You can only hope

You can't select the page on which it exists in the design tab anyway as actinic crashes because of the java error .

That may be the case here, but Actinic is used in many other countries, not all of which have (or care about) these rules.

It's still a lousy method to use though.
