    Image Does Not Exist?

I am trying to change a picture for one of my products. I save it in Actinic and then I browse to find the image and add it to my product. When I try to apply the change it says the image does not exist? It's definately there because I can click on it and open it.

Does the file have any spaces in the filename? Such as 'my image.jpg', which should be 'my_image.jpg' or 'my-image.jpg' - Actinic is sometimes flakey with spaces in filenames (as is Internet Explorer)

No, it is just one word. I have tried it in .jpg and .gif.

Open it in your image software and save it again.

Have you checked that there is nothing strange with the file extension, for example myimage.jpg.jpg

If you are still stuck may be worth attaching a screen grab of the view in windows explorer showing the file.

Have tried everything. Thank you. May have something to do with Windows Vista and permissions. Having someone looking at that. Thank you.

I had similar problems & it all boiled down to what program I used to resize the image. I usually got more trouble from FastStone Photo Resizer than any of the other packages. I now use PixResizer for all images and don't seem to encounter any issues. Please note that I'm not saying the FastStone Photo Resizer is at fault 'cos I'm sure others on this forum are using it without any problems.

My suggestion is that you delete the offending image & resize from the original using a different program and then try again.

Make sure it is in 8 or 16 bit and NOT 32 bit colour space.

I have exactly that problem with six images on a client's site.
They were originally saved as bmp's and then subsequently re-saved a jpg's. For some reason Actinic declines to recognise their existence because of their bmp 'history' every time they are re-loaded to the site. So everytime they are relaoaded, I open them into Paint Shop, re-save them, and they work perfectly.
Something in Actinic doesn't like the remnants of bmp coding?
