V9.0.4

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to put a quick posting up in regards to v9.0.4, the next v9 maintenance release. My development team here at Actinic Towers have been busy working on v9.0.4 and we are drawing close to the end of the development cycle.

While the final list for the release is still to be confirmed I would like to share with you a number of issues that will definitely be included.

The big feature in this release is a fantastic integration with the Third Man anti fraud service. This will be available to all Actinic Payments customers, for free, with v9.0.4. More on this in the coming weeks.

We are also resolving a number of known issues including:

* A issue that caused Actinic to hang during upload
* Issues causing crashes on upload and dmp errors
* Images are deleted when the site is updated
* The same invoice number is used for two different invoices
* % of items shown as shipped is not correct
* Cannot take payment for some back-orders when using Actinic Payments
* Orders that are fully shipped are not completing
* Selectors have incorrect range values
* Crash when adding a php based condition to the library
* Orders do not decrypt after changing User Type in Business Plus / Enterprise
* Unselected optional components added to cart

Once we have closed the development on v9.0.4 we will be asking for both alpha and beta testers as well as holding a user test day at West Byfleet, further details to follow.

i thought that was all v9.0.3 - you mean theres more to come, well at sometime.

I still want the shipping finished, but im guessing we are looking at v12 for that

Good news about the third man - my protx users have been waiting to jump ship to actinic payments because of that so bring it on.

I hope you've fixed all bugs that were already known but not fixed when 9.0.3 came out. Plus quite a few that have arrived with 9.0.3. Sorry to seem critical, but a cool new feature that just happens to have the side-effect of promoting an ancilliary fee-based service seems the wrong use of programmer hours when there are bugs to be fixed.

OMG, communication from the towers, woot at the new modern methods. Communication seems to have changed a lot since you joined Ben, not sure if it is down to you or just coincidence, but whatever it is, keep it up, excellent stuff.

100% with this - I expect the full list of bugs to be resolved before new features are thrown into the mix, which will no doubt cause further issues Is it just me or is Actinic really going for the eBay/Paypal method? (ie. shopped on eBay lately and tried to pay by another method but had no alternative unless you use centuries old methods like cheques? thought not).

It's such a shame and totally infuriating that so many bugs exist in the software that evidently aren't being fixed.

If this is what the developers have been working on then Actinic should consider their existing customers who are having issues with the current release that halt their business - not pushing to capture a bigger market. I'm all for expanding, but please remember it's your current customers who put you where you are today. Over and out.
