    How did this happen!?

    Hi All

Im hoping someone can help me with the following problem I have.

When people log in to buy on line they are being sent to another website.

The site they are being redirected to is a new site I am working on but it is nothing to do with my existing site. They are not even hosted by the same company. (I do hold both sites on the same PC). I must have done something inadvertantly but I dont know what!

If you login using Username: TRADE & Password:trade you will see what I mean.

Can I solve this by uploading my whole site again?

    Thanks
    Paul

Compare all fields on the network settings of both sites, see if anything the same. Looks like a mixup on script numbers or maybe even cgi-bin location or maybe even the script running. Have each site on a different script number for starters.

A refresh may well clear things, have you done any cross testing at all? Ive not seen this myself, so don't think it is an actinic bug, seems something local.

      Hi Lee

Thanks for your response, but Im a bit confused by the answer. Where would I find these files? I am not too sure about cgibin stuff, will a site refresh cure this?
Is it worth me keeping the two sites apart on different PCs to get around the problem?

If you don't know about network settings, then that is probably the issue. How did the first site ever get its network settings and how did the second site get its network setting if you don't understand this area?

Multiple sites on a single PC is fine, I have a host of sites all on the same PC.

Network settings are like the addresses on postcards, if you use the same address on all of them they all end up in the same place. Each site wants to have its own unique address, otherwise you could end up with No.24's telephone and water bill, and boy do they talk and waste a lot of water.

          Hi Lee

Thank you for your help on this. I have reloaded the site and the problem has gone, but Im still not sure why. I will have to learn about network settings!

          thanks again

How does the site work if you haven't already?
