Price action=delete in Sage Import Files

    Hi Community Folks,

Quick question about Sage import files (created and imported via Actinic Link).

I notice that there are 'Price action=delete' references in them but as far as I can tell these don't actually delete the prices for a product as I would expect them to. Am I misunderstanding what these references are all about or is there something wrong and they should be deleting prices?

I have searched the forum but found only one post about this which didn't appear to be quite what I'm asking and had no satisfactory response.

Note that imports are on an 'Update' rather than 'Replace' basis and I'm using version 8.5.3 IDHB (both Designer & Business Client).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Does no one from Actinic know what Price action=delete means in an Actinic Link import file? That's a bit worrying...

      Hi Angi,

Sorry, but I somehow missed this one. Can you tell me if this is in the import from Sage to Actinic or from Actinic to Sage? Under which File/Column does 'Price action=delete' appear (I can't see any instances of this in my import files)?

        Hi Tracey,

Thanks for getting back to me.

It's Sage to Actinic and 'Price action=delete,Qty A (the last bit is the unique price schedule name by the way) appears just before the Price Schedule lines for each product (assuming that a price schedule has been deleted from Sage obviously). It's in the same column as 'Price' and 'Product' - see example below:

        Code:
Header:PriceSchedule	Schedule Name	Base Schedule	Calculation Method	Calculation Factor
        Header:Price	Customer Group	Price	Minimum
Header:Product	Product Reference	Short description	Full description	Image filename	Price	Tax Treatment	Shipping data	Stock in hand	Stock checks enabled
        PriceSchedule	Qty A	Qty A	0	0
        PriceSchedule	Qty B	Qty A	0	0
        PriceSchedule	Qty A | 12.5% Disc	Qty A	0	0
        Product	A4GBOX	A4 Flat Folding Box With Gold Lid 325 x 220 x 44mm 116	2	0.12	241	1
        Price action=delete,Qty A
If I understand what it's supposed to do and why it's there correctly then I would guess that you don't have the same in the import file you've tested because you haven't deleted any discount prices from Sage.

However, I'm not really sure how it works or how it gets there into the file in the first place - hence my question on whether anyone could shed any light.

Hope that helps clarify but let me know if it's still unclear.

        Many thanks.

                  Hi Angi

Attached below is the explaination development gave........

                  ________________

I have searched for "Price action=delete" in the main help of Actinic and
two pages have been listed containing the info below:

                  "Price

                  Actinic Business/Designer only

This is the data for customer group prices, and quantity-dependent pricing
(in the 'Prices' panel of a product or the 'Prices' area in a component).

Specifying the following will delete all prices of a given priced item:

                  Price action=delete"

                  "Prices

You can import pricing information using the Price keyword for Product,
                  Components and Permutations

Permutation prices ("Price" header keyword) MUST be written AFTER each
                  permutation.

You can delete all prices of a given priced item for a specified schedule.

                  Header:Price,Price,Minimum,Schedule

                  Price action=delete,,,Retail

Note: the words 'action' and 'delete' are case insensitive."

So the line in the customer's import file should remove the prices of the
                  related price schedule.
